OCCUPATIONAL TRAINING - SUBCLASS 442 TEMPORARY VISA
Thank you for your interest in a Subclass 442 Occupational Trainee temporary visa to Australia.
Visa 442 is intended for a supervised training program that
. is workplace-based, not classroom-based; and
. is designed specifically to increase a person's level of practical skill in their present occupation or area of expertise.
Use application form 147 to apply.
If applicable, please include your spouse and dependent child/children under 18 in the same application. Only one fee is required.
The completed application must be posted by registered mail to PO Box 33801, Tel Aviv together with the following documents:
1- processing fee paid by a bank or postal cheque, payable to the Australian Embassy. Personal cheques and credit cards are not acceptable. No cash please. Details are available from the DIMIA's site. Please do not send cash by mail. We cannot be responsible for the loss of any cash sent by mail.

2- Evidence that the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) in Australia has approved the sponsorship lodged on your behalf (a faxed copy of the approval letter from DIAC is acceptable);
3- If you intend to stay in Australia for 12 months or above, results of medical and radiological examinations for you and family members accompanying you to Australia conducted by one of the Embassy doctors. In certain cirumstances health checks may be required for a shorter period of stay in Australia. Relevant forms and instructions and a list of approved doctors will be provided after you lodge your application at our office.
4- If you intend to stay in Australia for 12 months or above, Israeli police certificates of no criminal record "Teudat Yosher" for you and for family members accompanying you to Australia who are 16 years old and over. Please apply at the police station nearest to you and take with you your ID card/s and 3 passport photographs. The police will send the certificate/s directly to our office;
5- Evidence of your relevant employment and educational history (i.e. certified copies of your relevant diplomas/degrees and work references);
6- A statement from your current employer, if any, explaining how the occupational training that is proposed will give you additional or enhanced skills that you will be able to utilize in your country after leaving Australia (if you are unemployed or your proposed training is not supported by your employer, please provide a personal statement);
7- Evidence of adequate health insurance for at least the first 12 months of your stay in Australia or the full period of visa, if less than 12 months. The insurance policy should cover all hospital in-patient costs as well as pre-existing conditions and pharmaceuticals where these are relevant to your current health condition.
8- For Meidcal Practitioners only: If the training position is that of a medical practitioner, the training will normally require registration from the relevant state/territory medical board. Overseas trained doctors applying for temporary visas do not usually have general or unconditional registration. They may be eligible to be granted conditional registration by the relevant state/territory medical board. Evidence of registration or a letter from the medical board giving 'in principle' acceptance must be provided before the application may be approved. you should provide written evidence that the relevant state/territory medical board would or has recognised your qualifications and that you will be given medical registration after visa grant or after arrival in Australia. An "in principle" acceptance letter from the relevant medical board is sufficient. If the training position is observation only and no registration is required, no evidence needs to be given.
9 - Certified English translation (by notary) of your marriage certificate and the birth certificates of the children included in your application; and
10 - A copy of the valid passport of each person included in your application. If your visa is granted, you will be invited to send your original passport to our office to collect your visa label.
Please note that you may lodge your visa application before you receive a copy of the approval letter from DIAC. However, we cannot be responsible for any costs incurred by you should the sponsorship be refused.
The application form and supporting documents may be lodged via your travel agent or by registered mail.
If you send your application and passport/s by registered mail, your passport/s will be delivered back to you door to door in most Israeli cities at your own cost (NIS60 paid cash at the time of delivery). If you live in a remote locations, such as the West Bank, you would have to collect your passport/s from the nearest office of "Aviv Shigur".

Please remember that you should not finalise any of your affairs in this country or make final travel plans until you have received official advice from the Embassy that your application has been approved and you receive your passport back from our office.
