VISITOR AND SHORT STAY BUSINESS VISAS

Processing time: Current processing time is usually between 10 and 20 working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays) depending on various factors, including how you send your application to our office. Some times processing may take longer.  Please send your application as early as possible and do NOT make final travel arrangements until you receive your passport back from our office with a visa. Interruption of travel and/or business plans/meetings are not considered "emergency".

Use form 48RHEB for a visitor visa.

Use form 456 for a business visa. 

You may also obtain the forms from your travel agent or by writing to: PO Box 33801, Tel Aviv 61337.

Applicants are also required to supply:

1- Processing fee in local currency (New Israeli Shekels) paid by a bank or postal cheque payable to the Australian Embassy, Tel Aviv. Personal cheques, credit cards and cash are not acceptable. Please do not send any cash by mail. We cannot be responsible for the loss of cash sent by mail. For fees see: Charges ; 

2- One current passport photograph not older than 6 months;


3- A passport valid for the period of your intended stay in Australia. Please note that your passport must remain at our office during the processing of your application.

4- For a business visa, please attach a letter or fax or e-mail from  your employer or business contacts in Australia explaining the reasons and duration of your visit and detailed information about your proposed business activities.

5- If you are under 18 you must provide a written consent from both parents, even if they are travelling with you. Special consent forms may be obtained from your travel agent, or our website. See: Consent form. You must also provide a certified copy of your birth certificate stating the names of your parents.

6- If you are 70 and above you must provide a letter from your travel agent or Kupat Kholim confirming that you have travel health insurance for the duration of your stay in Australia. You must also provide a certificate from one of the Embassy doctors that you are fit to travel. Special forms for the Embassy doctor may be obtained from your travel agent, or our website. In certain circumstances, you will be invited to undergo full health assessment at your own cost.

Faxes and photocopies of completed forms are not acceptable.

If your application is lodged via your travel agent  (Your agent will delivr it to us through the Israel Tourist and Travel Agents Association (SHAAL) or S.M Visa Services) normally, your passport will be returned to your travel agent  after ten working days from the day we receive your application from your travel agent.  However, they may be processing delays for various reasons.  Please do not make final travel arrangments until your receive your passport back with a visa.

If you send your application by registered or express mail to our office (to PO Box 33801, Tel Aviv) your passport passport will be delivered back to you door to door at your cost (NIS60 paid cash directly to the delivery person) usually after 20 working days from the day we receive your application at our office . If you live in a remote location, such as the West Bank, you would have to collect your passport from the nearest office of "Aviv Shigur". The delivery service will give you a call to coordinate the delivery of your passport.  Please note that there may be processing delays for various reasons. Please do not make final travel arrangments until your receive your passport back with a visa

You may lodge your application in person in the following circumstances:

1- A genuine emergency, such as the death or serious and sudden illness of a close relative in Australia. Please contact our office by e-mail or by phone before you arrive for an emergency.

2- Other urgent or exceptional circumstances. If you have urgent or exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Embassy. If you have urgent or exceptional circumstances, please discuss them with our office over the phone or by e-mail and request an appointment.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE FINAL TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS UNTIL YOU RECEIVE YOUR PASSPORT BACK FROM OUR OFFICE WITH A VISA.  DISRUPTION OF TRAVEL AND BUSINESS PLANS IS NOT CONSIDERED AN ‘EMERGENCY'.

Information about visa validity, conditions and period of stay is available on the application forms. Please read your visa label very carefully and note the validity, period of stay and conditions of your visa before you commence your travel.
