Australian Passport Information:

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

NEW PASSPORT APPLICATION FORMS WILL BE INTRODUCED ON 1ST JULY 2008. CURRENT FORMS CAN CONTINUE TO BE USED UNTIL 30TH SEPTEMBER 2008 BUT AFTER THIS DATE ONLY THE NEW FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE EMBASSY.

AUSTRALIANS IN POSSESSION OF VALID 10 YEAR PASSPORTS OR 10 YEAR PASSPORTS THAT HAVE EXPIRED LESS THAN 12 MONTHS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE PASSPORT RENEWAL FORMS WHEN THEY APPLY FOR NEW PASSPORTS. THE ONLY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED WHEN LODGING A RENEWAL FORM IS THE PASSPORT BEING REPLACED.    

FROM 1ST JULY 2008, WHERE THE RENEWAL OPTION DOES NOT APPLY, THE NEW FULL PASSPORT APPLICATION FORM WILL REQUIRE THE APPLICANT TO PROVIDE THE ORIGINAL OF EITHER THEIR FULL AUSTRALIAN BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR THEIR AUSTRALIAN CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP IN SUPPORT OF THEIR APPLICATION, AS WELL AS THEIR PREVIOUS PASSPORT. IF THEIR AUSTRALIAN CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP DOES NOT INCLUDE THEIR PLACE OF BIRTH AND THEIR SEX, THE APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE TO PROVIDE THEIR ORIGINAL OVERSEAS BIRTH CERTIFICATE PLUS A NOTARIZED TRANSLATION OF THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE IF IT IS NOT IN ENGLISH.

It is possible to complete an Australian Passport Renewal Application Form provided that:

You are 18 years of age or over and have an Australian Adult passport that

was valid for ten years
is current, or expired less than twelve months ago
was issued in your current name, date of birth and sex.

ALL other applicants must complete an Application for an Australian Passport (NOT A RENEWAL APPLICATION) and should read the attached information .

Current regular passport fees as of 1/07/2008:

ADULT PASSPORTS: NIS 652.00

MINOR PASSPORTS (TILL AGE18): NIS 326.00

Please note that Passport Fees may change on the first day of each month.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING PASSPORT PHOTOS:

SIZE OF HEAD IN PHOTO MUST BE BETWEEN 32-36MM FROM TOP OF HEAD TO CHIN.

MOUTHS MUST BE CLOSED (NEUTRAL EXPRESSION - NO SMILES)

BACKGROUND MUST BE PLAIN.

PARENTS HANDS ETC SHOULD NOT BE VISIBLE IN PHOTOS OF BABIES

IT IS PREFERABLE THAT CLIENTS  WEARING GLASSES REMOVE THEM AS THE RELECTION OF THE FLASH CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS PREVENTING THE EYES FROM BEING CLEARLY SEEN.
